  2. One weekend trip (2 days) will lead both groups to the eastern part of the Harz Mountain National Park: Hiking and a guided tour through a part of the Harz Mountains National Park will illustrate topics of nature conservation. The second day will be reserved for a tour of Wernigerode with a guided tour through the castle and a trip to the Brocken (the highest mountain in the Harz) with the “Harzer Schmalspurbahn” (Narrow-Gauge Railways).
Weekend day trips to Hamburg and/or Bremen or to the renaissance town of Hamelin will acquaint the group with the famous German fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.
  3. Another 3-day trip will lead the groups to Germany’s capital Berlin and beautiful Potsdam. German and European politics and history – such as the results of the reunification – will be the main topic of that weekend. A visit to the Parliament Quarter with a special tour to the Cupola will be one of the highlights of this trip. In addition, many museums (e. g. Mauermuseum – Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, personal meeting with a former escape helper), concert halls and city life of the German capital as well as Potsdam’s Park Landscape – yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site will fascinate you.
On some weekends nothing will be scheduled to allow you either to do things individually or in small groups or to meet with your “buddies” and German students.
