The first week of this program consists of a joint introduction week for all participants which takes place in Hannover.

The introduction week includes:

• Networking and making acquaintances
• Introduction of the program/schedule/requirements
• Language proficiency test and allocation into different language course groups, if necessary
• Introduction to the German higher education system & to Engineering in Germany (main research fields, main companies, historical aspects and famous inventions, today`s challenges etc.) presentation of a topic of major current interest
• Introduction to different research methods
• Administration paperwork (registration, medical insurance etc.)
• Guided tours of the city
• Welcome BBQ

Focus of the introductory week is German Language Instruction, however: 5 hours per day, Tuesday thru Friday.
